The late Sir Paul Getty was a devotee of all things English, especially cricket. His passion for the sport led him to create what is often referred to as the most beautiful cricket ground in England.
The inaugural game in 1992 was attended by Her Majesty The Queen Mother, the then Prime Minister Sir John Major, Sir Michael Caine and cricket legends Denis Compton and Brian Johnston. Since then, Wormsley has seen great innings from many iconic players including 100’s by Brian Lara and Graham Gooch. In recent years Wormsley has played host to England Women’s test matches against Australia and India.
Quintessentially English, the ground boasts a picturesque cricket pavilion, and ample space for hospitality marquees and catering facilities. The main Robin Snell designed dining marquee seats up to 300 and is also a wonderful space for summertime conferences and weddings.
